JAMMU, Jan 19: Up in arms against non-payment of their salary for the last 22 months, Agriculture Technocrats  (VAEAs) of all districts of Jammu region today gathered under the banner of  Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Technocrats Association  and held a protest demonstration  against State Government.
While addressing the VAEAs demonstration,  Dr.Surinder Radotra,  State president JKATA,  said that they were  without salaries for the last  22 months but the Government was keeping its eyes closed.
“We have got regularized through the route of agitation and sleeping on the roads and Government is now forcing us to take the same route again,” he warned and added that most of the VAEAs were posted outside their native districts and they were unable to feed their families.
Dr.Vinod Sharma,  chairman JKATA, said that they met all the Government functionaries regarding their  burning issues before and after regularizations but did not get anything except assurances.  “The Government had promised us that our services as Rehber E Ziraat  will be included   in regular service on the pattern of RETs with all benefits of old pension scheme w e f first April 2007 . but till date Government is not able to pay us,” he explained.
Dr Radotra appealed to the Government to release the salaries of all VAEAs of both Jammu and Kashmir regions immediately.
Among those, who spoke on the occasion, included  Dr Jyoti Chib, Bhupinder Singh Jamwal  Harmeet Singh,  Prakashvir Singh, Vinod Sharma,   Anil Sharma,   Vishal Mankotia  Dinesh Gupta,   Gurmet  Singh and others.
