Agriculture Technocrats hold meeting, project burning demands

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, July 27: Agriculture Technocrats today held meeting under the banner of JKATA here and discussed burning issues confronting Technocrats.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions on various issues pertaining to the future of Agriculture technocrats took place positively.
All participants laid thrust on the unity which is possible only after conducting free and fair elections from zonal to provincial level with an aim to mitigate the sufferings of fraternity by using collective efforts.
The merger issue was thoroughly discussed and the participants were apprised regarding the reasons behind the stumbling blocks created in the path of merger. It was found that reorganization process has huge financial implications and is also a time consuming process whereas merger has no financial implications.
The unanimous decision on merger was taken and a consensus was made to put efforts for convincing the higher authorities to take merger process separately to its logical conclusions by implementing the Merger Committee recommendations. The Government was urged to implement the transparent transfer policy in Agriculture Department so that justice could reach to all technocrats especially to those who are serving in the far flung districts for the last 6 – 7 years which is not only unfortunate but a grave injustice as well.It was also discussed in the meeting that we technocrats have been deprived by the govt from our rights be it degradation of our designation from JAEO to AEA or putting us under NPS that too after rendering our uninterrupted services from April 2007.
JKATA urged the Government to give service effect since 2007 so that sense of belongingness could prevail among one and all technocrats.
Vishal Manhas while speaking on the service inclusion/ pensioners benefits apprised the participants regarding the role being played by National Movement For Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS) which is a national level registered organization working for the implementation of old pension scheme and whose efforts yielded the fruits of OPS in various states. NMOPS (J&K) unit is an amalgam of all govt employs irrespective of the departments and designations who got recruited in govt jobs after 2010. JKATA had extended its support to the NMOPS (J&K) and is also playing active role for the implementation of old pension scheme which is in the larger interests of technocrat’s fraternity.
