JAMMU, Feb 25: A deputation of All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (JKAOWF) today met Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Advisor to Governor NN Vohra and apprised him of the burning issues plaguing the department.
The deputation led by JKAOWF president, Vijay Kumar Upadhyaya put forth the charter of demands which included early conduct of DPC, granting of Time Bound Promotions (TBP) for Gazetted Agriculture Cadre (pending with Finance Department), reorganization of the Agriculture Department (pending with Administrative Department) and interim arrangements for filling of the vacant posts on the pattern of One Man One Post One Charge.
The Forum requested the Advisor to provide interim relief to the senior most officers of the department by placing them on higher available vacant posts on the basis of One Man One Post.
It was stressed that the working of the department is suffering because many officers are holding charge of 2-3 posts as the DPC of the department has not been done since last three decades.
The Forum demanded the running grades for gazetted agriculture fraternity on the pattern of medicos/ISM/Veterinarians adding these steps will improve the working of the department and will also boost the morale of the senior officers of the department who are on the verge of retirement and have not got a single promotion in their entire service career.
Khurshid Ganai expressed concern and compassion with the delegation and assured help to resolve the issues of gazetted agriculture cadre.
