JAMMU, May 13: An agriculture camp was organized by the Army at Jhangar as a prelude to mark 68th Jhangar Day Celebrations.
The eminent speakers and experts present on the occasion were RS Jamwal, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Kulbhushan Sharma, BDO Nowshera, Ravi Gupta, J&K Energy Development Agency, Ramesh Sharma, Manager, J&K Gramin Bank and Rahi Jamwal, Manager, Punjab National Bank, Nowshera. All of them interacted with the farmers to understand and solve their queries.
The event was attended by 120 women, 269 men and 253 children. The farmers were enlightened about various Government schemes such as KCC (Kisan Credit Card), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Bima.
The platform was also utilized to distribute 10 quintals of Corn Seeds and 100 Solar Cookers on subsidized rates. In addition, under the first phase of construction of toilets, five farmers were selected to be given the incentives for building toilets under ‘Clean India Project’.
