JAMMU, Aug 20: A team of Agriculture Department today inspected the seeds, fertilizers and pesticide outlets in Bishnah and Arnia areas.
The inspecting teams were led by Chief Agriculture Officer, Farooq Ahmad Bhat and it comprised of Chief Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Roshan Lal Bhagat, District Law Enforcement Officer, Kashmira Singh Chowdhary and others.
The inspecting team checked licences of fertilizer and pesticide shops and found that many shopkeepers have not renewed their licenses.
Such shopkeepers were asked to renew their licenses immediately to avoid their cancellation.
The inspecting team also instructed seeds, pesticide and fertilizer dealers to sell good quality material to the farmers and put a rate list outside the shops so that the farmers may easily know the prices of the seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.
Inspecting team also lifted samples of seeds and pesticides for testing their quality.
District Law Enforcement Officer, Kashmira Singh Chowdhary said, such inspections will continue to ensure quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides be made available to farmers.
