JAMMU, July 3: Taking serious exception to Government’s apathetic attitude towards inmates of Jagti camp, Panun Kashmir (PK) today warned the Government of serious consequences if it continues with its discriminatory policies towards the displaced people from Valley.
In a statement issued here, today Dr Agnishekhar convener Panun Kashmir alleged that conditions akin to genocide have been created at Jagti by the present Government led by Omar Abdullah which instead of applying balm on the wounds of hapless people who have been forced to leave the Valley by trigger happy militants over two decades back, the Government was adding salt to their injuries which has been a cause of concern for entire community throughout the globe.
Dr Agnishekhar said snapping power supply to the population of over 10,000 people in Jagti camp in this hot and humid summer tantamount to worst human rights violation and such a treatment is not even given to enemies which the State coalition has given to inmates of Jagti camp.
He while providing a statistical data said hundreds of infirm and old people as well as children reside in Jagti camp, who feel like fish in frying pan without electricity in this hot Summer. Their screams will not go waste and spell a doom for those who put these hapless people to such conditions one day, he added.
He warned that in case Government continued this discriminatory policy towards the hapless people PK will take the issue to National Human Rights Commission and people of country to seek justice for over seven lakh people who have been thrown out of their homes due to the wrong policies of the Government.
Dr Agnishekhar said this treatment of the Government has justified the homeland struggle launched by PK two years back and urged the entire community to remain wedded to the cause.
