JAMMU, June 28: Reiterating their stand, the agitating academic arrangements staff in various Government Polytechnics of Jammu and Kashmir have announced not to resume services till their regularization.
They have also announced to further intensify their agitation from tomorrow onwards and adopt new modes of protest to awaken the Government from its deep slumber over their issue.
Decisions in this regard were taken during a meeting of the core group of All J&K Polytechnics Academic Arrangements Association, here today . The Association members unanimously decided that their ongoing agitation will continue unless department gives them in written regarding their regularization. The members further said that they were well aware of the fact that academic session of the students was suffering but t they had no option other than to continue the strike as no one was listening to their grievance for the last four years. They threatened to gherao the ministers and elected representatives if their demand is not conceded within a week.
Meanwhile, despite heavy rain today, the protesting academic arrangements continued their protest dharna at Exhibition Ground Jammu for the 22nd consecutive day. Holding umbrellas in the downpour, the protesting academic arrangements raised slogans in support of their demand of regularization.
Under the banner of All J&K Polytechnics Academic Arrangements Association, the protest dharna at Jammu is being led by Atul Sudan, president of AJKPAA, Jammu whereas in Kashmir division, Shahnwaz Qadir is leading the ongoing protest of academic arrangements.
The Association is demanding that the Government should immediately include Polytechnics academic arrangements into JK Civil Services Act or frame a regularization policy for them.
