After abrogation of Articles, Valmiki Samaj hopes all round development

JAMMU, Aug 12: All Jammu and Kashmir Valmiki Samaj has said that after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A from J&K there will be all round development of the downtrodden people of Valmiki Samaj.
In a press conference here today Dev Anand Gill, leader of J&K Valmiki Samaj said, the historic decision of PM Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah will do justice with the neglected Valmiki community which was paid no heed by different Governments since independence.
“Now under the leadership of PM Modi the downtrodden community of Valmiki Samaj will prosper,” Gill said.
He further said that the future generations of Valmiki community will now get Government jobs, admissions in professional institutions etc as the draconian Articles 370 and 35-A are no more in J&K.
“We now demand special reservation for Valmiki community in J&K as has been there in States like Punjab, Himachal, Delhi etc,” the Valmiki Samaj leader said adding that the term “Choora” being used for the community members of Valmiki Samaj in the states of Punjab, Himachal, Delhi etc should be replaced by “Valmiki”.
Chaman Lal, Gurmez, Shankar Kumar, Sonu, Tarsem and others were also present in the press conference.
