Advisor Narula approves Rs 45.359 crore under BADP action plan

LEH, Sept 1: Advisor Umang Narula who is also the chairperson of the UT Level Screening Committee BADP chaired the first meet of Committee for consideration of the Border Area Development Programme Plan 2020-21 of UT Ladakh, at his office chamber today.
Commissioner/Secretary Education UT Ladakh Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Secretary PD&MD Saugat Biswas, Secretary Power Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Leh Sachin Kumar Vaishya, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary (through VC), HQ 14 Corps Lt Col Atul Arora, DIG ITBP Achar Sharma, 2-i-C SHQ ITBP Rajesh Sawhney, Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson, Deputy Director Tsering Angdus and concerned officers were present in the meeting. Second-in-Command BADP Tarun Kumar also participated through video conference from New Delhi.
Secretary Planning Saugat Biswas gave a detailed power point presentation on various schemes targeted for border villages under BADP amounting to Rs 45.359 crore for the year 2020-21.
Chairperson Narula gave directions for preparing inventories of assets created in border villages, geo-tagging of works as well as on-construction of houses for the nomads. He further stressed on giving priorities to basic amenities such as roads, drinking water, and power among others in the border villages.
With emphasis to speed up the process of estimate preparation of the works proposed and completion of works within time of 3 years, the Chairperson approved the action plan under BADP for the year 2020-21.
