Advisor Ganai asks DCs to visit block headquarters to solve public grievances

JAMMU, June 17: Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, today sought reports from Deputy Commissioners of Budgam, Kulgam and Reasi after people of these districts complained to him about lack of basic facilities in their respective areas.
The people from Katra town met the Advisor during public hearing and complained about acute shortage of water supply in their area. Similarly, people from Damhal Hanji Pora, Kulgam, had forwarded their complaint about lack of drinking water whereas those from Yusmarg, in Budgam district, sought the attention of the Government towards poor facilities vis-à-vis roads, water supply, power, civic amenities etc.
The Advisor reiterated the directions of the Governor asking the DCs to visit block headquarters on rotational basis to hear public grievances as per schedule. He also invited the attention of Administrative Secretaries to instructions issued by the Government regarding hearing grievances by earmarking 1-2 hours every working day for meeting public deputations and individuals.
Other deputations and individuals who met the Advisor registered their grievances related to water and power supply, sports, school and higher education, home, public works, rural development, cooperative, food, civil supplies and consumer affairs (FCS&CA) and other departments and sought his intervention in early redressal of their concerns, demands and developmental needs.
Those who met the Advisor included delegations of Kathua Vikas Manch headed by Ram Murti Sharma, Association for Welfare of Senior Citizens, deputation from Baguri Area, Kastigarh, Doda, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Salan area of Kathua, delegation from Mendhar, delegation of disable persons.
Besides, a delegation of Junior Assistants aspirants from District Doda raised the matter of issuance of pending selection list by the recruitment authority.
Advisor Ganai gave a patient hearing to the demands raised and assured that their grievances and demands would be examined and the concerned departments will be asked to redress all of their genuine concerns.
