Several delegations call on Farooq Khan

JAMMU, Sept 2: Advisor to Governor, Farooq Khan today met scores of public delegations and individuals at weekly public hearing programme at Convention Centre.
The Advisor interacted with the public delegations and individuals and listened to their issues and demands.
Over 250 people comprising 87 deputations and scores of individuals hailing from different areas of Jammu division projected a number of issues pertaining to School Education, Technical Education, Haj & Auqaf, Social Welfare, Tribal Affairs, Culture, Agriculture/ Horticulture and Rural Development & Panchayati Raj and sought Advisor’s intervention to ensure time-bound redressal of their grievances.
Deputy Mayor, JMC, Purnima Sharma met the Advisor and put forth various issues of Jammu Municipal Corporation. She also raised issues pertaining to Social Welfare Department, scholarships to underprivileged children and effective implementation of Marriage Assistance Scheme.
Member, J&K State Human Right Commission, Chander Mohan Sharma apprised the Advisor about various issues of public importance.
Sportsperson and BSF Jawan, Radhey Kumar, hailing from a remote village Chunera, Mahanpur of district Kathua, demanded special incentives for the sportsperson, especially Gold medalists. Radhey Kumar has won 6 medals including 1 gold and 4 silver medal in World Police and Fire Games at China.
He was accompanied by members of JK General Sports Association including Dr Ashutosh Sharma, SSP, J&K Police, Dushyant Sharma and Coach SS Gill. The Advisor congratulated the athlete for his achievementd and wished him great success in his future endeavors.
A delegation of General Line Teachers Forum, led by its President Neeraj Sharma, submitted a memorandum of demands seeking regularization of Laboratory Assistants and Junior Assistants, repatriation of transferred ReTs to their original places of engagement, issuance of NPS salary grant and alike.
A delegation of Ladakh Buddhist Association, Zanskar led by its President Tsewang Chostar, projected demands related to shifting of Holy Book-Tripitaka from Ranbir library and separate district status for Zanskar.
A delegation of Private School owners raised issue regarding regularization of fees in private schools.
A delegation of residents of Panchayat Dhoke Waziran , Nagrota led by its Sarpanch, Raman Wazir put forth demands related to augmentation of drinking water supply, sanitation and other development issues of their area.
A delegation of JK Kisan Council led by its Chairman, Rakesh Bittu raised several issues related to Agriculture department.
A delegation of Citizen Co-operative Bank Officers Association Jammu led by Anil Khajuria sought capital infusion for the bank.
A delegation of Sarpanchs of Vijaypur block led by Sarpanch, Rampal raised several developmental issues of their areas.
A delegation of residents of village Dhanwalt , Ramnagar demanded the upgradation of Government High School and construction of water tank in their area.
A delegation of Taekwondo Association raised various concerned issues.
A delegation of residents of Panchayat Bhalwal Upper-B raised development issues of their area.
Delegations of Horticulture Development Officers, employees of Education Department of Gharota area, casual labours from different departments and teachers from Rajouri area raised their service matter issues.
The Advisor gave a patient hearing to the demands put forth by people who turned up in large number at the public hearing and assured them that the Governor’s Administration would ensure outcome-based disposal of all the genuine issues raised by the people. He also issued on the spot directions to the concerned officers for taking cognizance of the issues pertaining to their departments and redress of the same forthwith.
Senior functionaries of the concerned departments were also present during the public hearing.
