JAMMU, Mar 28: As election fervour is growing and date for first phase of polling is coming closer, senior BJP leaders including former Deputy Prime Minister, L K Advani, Party national president Raj Nath Singh, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley and several others including some celebrities are visiting State for campaigning from next week.
According to Party sources the senior leaders will visit according to phase wise polling to the State and in the first instance they will visit Jammu Lok Sabha seat the elections of which are scheduled to be held on April 10.
This will be followed by their visit to Kathua -Doda Lok Sabha Constituency during the second phase of polling to be held on April 17.
The BJP leaders will address election rallies in Jammu, Akhnoor, R S Pura, Bishnah, Vijaypur, Nagrota, Rajouri, Sunderbani, Samba etc in Jammu –Poonch Lok Sabha seat while in Kathua -Doda Lok Sabha seat the poll rallies by national leaders and celebrities will be held at Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, Doda, Basholi, Billawar, Kishtwar and Bhaderwah, sources added.
Sources said the State BJP leaders have already approached the Party High Command with the list of about 40 national leaders and celebrities for campaigning in the State. While Party’s Prime Ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi started his campaigning from J&K with holding first poll rally at Hiranagar in Kathua -Doda Parliamentary Constituency after paying obeisance at holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi on March 26, the senior party leaders and celebrities will start the campaigning from next week.
Among the other senior leaders visiting the State for campaigning included the veteran BJP leader and former Union Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, former national president of the Party Nitin Gadkari, Chief Minister’s of MP, Chattisgarh and Goa, Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan, Dr Raman Singh and Manohar Parekar, senior Party leaders Mukhtar Abas Nakvi and Shah Navaz Hussian, celebrities, Navjot Singh Sidhoo, Heemamalini, Shaturgan Sinha and BJP Mahila Morcha president Simrati Irani.
Sources said the BJP leaders will be on whirlwind tour of the State from next week and they will concentrate on Ladakh Lok Sabha seat also.
Some of the party leaders will also address poll rallies in Anantnag-Pulwama Parliamentary Constituency to garner support for party candidate from there, sources added.
