JAMMU, July 28: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) vice president and former minister, Raman Bhalla today alleged that J&K UT Administration was working only on papers and the public grievances have remained unattended and unheard.
While interacting with people of Gorakh Nagar as a part of his continuous campaign to reach out the aggrieved people in different parts of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Bhalla said the challenges being faced by J&K people were manifold, especially in the wake of “hate politics” being promoted by the vested interests, as a shield to hide its “failures on all fronts”.
“Communal politics is against the secular ethos of Jammu and Kashmir and those promoting it are doing a disservice to the people,” he said, adding that his party would continue to cleanse degenerated political atmosphere by strengthening the secular fabric, which is corner stone of J&K.
The senior Congress leader accused BJP Government of plunging J&K into unprecedented political uncertainty by failing to maintaining law and order, adopting anti-people policies and indulging in politics of hate. “The present dispensation has failed in meeting challenges faced by the people of J&K ,” he said.
Bhalla further said that every right thinking individual whether it’s the civil society, mainstream opposition leaders or the religious leaders all have spoken against Governments inability to address basic public issues,” adding, “still nothing concrete has been achieved by the government so far even after seven long years in rule.
He said that sections of society are facing difficulties and the Centre should take effective measures to improve the current situation.
Expressing serious concern over scarcity of essential commodities, grim power and water supply in Jammu region, senior Congress leader said that the administration must come out of deep slumber and infuse responsiveness and an element of accountability in its machinery in order to mitigate the sufferings of people. Bhalla said that women folk are bearing maximum brunt of the anti-people policies being propagated by the NDA Government headed by Narendra Modi. He pointed towards unprecedented hike in the prices of basic amenities.
Bhalla maintained that BJP Govt has failed on all fronts. The people of Jammu are experiencing difficulties due to the shortage of electricity, erratic water supply and scarcity of ration at the ration depots. He said the authorities are not paying any attention to these burning problems of the common man.
