Admn bans gathering on Shab-e-Baraat

SRINAGAR, Apr 7: Amid Coronavirus fear in Kashmir, administration in Srinagar today imposed ban on holding any religious congregation on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today prohibited all sort of religious congregations and public movement on the occasion of Shab-e-Baraat in Srinagar.
Shab-e-Baraat is observed on 14th night of Islamic calendar month, Shabaan. On this night, prayers were being held in Mosques and shrines across Kashmir which were attended by thousands of people.
In Ashmuqam area of Anantnag, centuries-old tradition of burning Mashals also known as ‘Zool’ has been called off due to Coronavirus.
