SAMBA, May 29: District administration Samba retrieved 150 kanals of agriculture land and also took on spot action against illegal mining in Vijaypur area today.
An official handout said that a complaint was received by Deputy Commissioner, Samba through social media yesterday that some illegal land activity is taking place at village Salmeri and Pekhri in tehsil Vijaypur.
Acting swiftly on complaint Deputy Commissioner Samba along with ACR Samba, SDM Vijaypur, DMO Samba ,Tehsildar Vijaypur and other field staff visited the spot and found that illegal conversion of agricultural land measuring approximately 150 kanals has taken place. Moreover illegal mining was also taking place on the land. In addition to it, there was also violation of Water Resources (Regulation and Management) Act as the violators were filling the nallah, recorded as Gair Mumkin Khad in Revenue records.
Police has been directed to lodge FIR against the violators. DMO has also been directed to take necessary action against the violators under mining rules. DMO Samba later seized JCB and imposed fine on violations of Mining Act.
