SAMBA, Feb 8: The district administration Samba today removed illegal encroachments on the Ramgarh road in Vijaypur market.
The district administration while tightening its noose on illegal encroachers today launched a drive on Ramgarh road in Vijaypur market despite the protest launched by the shopkeepers of the area against the action of the administration and termed the action as highhandedness. The shopkeepers also held a protest demonstration in the town against the action.
The officials of various departments with the assistance of police collectively launched the drive which was led by SDM, Vijaypur, Chander Prakash. He was accompanied by SDPO, Labh Karan, Tehsildar, Vijaypur and teams of Municipal Corporation, etc. While talking with media person, SDM, Vijaypur, Chander Prakash said that for a long time some people had committed illegal encroachment in connivance of some Municipal officials and these encroachments were removed today.
He said such action will continue and all illegal encroachments will be removed. Moreover investigation will be held that with whose connivance the illegal encroachments were made and whoever will be responsible will be dealt under law and strict action will be taken against them.
He said common people are facing problems due to illegal encroachment. The people of the area have also welcomed this action.
