JAMMU, Aug 25: The District Administration Jammu is going to hold a series of camps on different dates for cluster of Panchayats for the expeditious disposal of ex-gratia relief announced by the State Government for the people affected due to recent heavy rains and flash floods.
The Deputy Commissioner Office has decided to adopt a special procedure for expeditious and transparent disposal.
Accordingly, camps are being organized at cluster of panchayats on different dates and the same have been notified by the Deputy Commissioner Office.
Nearly 2 to 4 panchayats have been clubbed under one cluster and camp is being organized in Panchayat Ghar of centrally located panchayat.
Naib Tehsildar concerned has been designated as “Camp Officer” who will be assisted by the officers/officials of Rural Development Department/ Agriculture/ Animal /Sheep Husbandry Department. Sarpanchs, Panchs, Nambardars & Chowkidars.
The affected person has to approach the camp officer with photograph of damage and copy of their Bank Pass Book . Forms have been prescribed which will be available at the camp office and all the details of damages have to be filled in the said form. Form will be verified on spot in presence of various officers/officials and if required physical verification will be made same day.
All the forms of the concerned Panchayat will be completed on same day with the report of revenue staff and other officers under the overall certification of Naib Tehsildar. All the applications with recommendations will be forwarded to the concerned Tehsildars, who after completing necessary verification will send the same to the “Special Relief Cell” of Deputy Commissioner Office Jammu. It is pertinent to mention that for speedy disposal of relief applications “Special Relief Cell” has been created in Deputy Commissioner Office, Jammu under the overall supervision of Addl Deputy Commissioner (ADM).
After proper scrutiny of the cases, approval of release will be prepared alongwith payment advice which will be sent to the bank and funds will be directly transferred to the beneficiaries account hence there will be no physical transaction of money through cheque or cash from the subordinate office to the beneficiary.
As per special procedure all the relief applications will be disposed of within 15 days. The complaint cell has also been created in the office of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu with Phone No. 2541818 on which details of application or its status can be obtained by the beneficiary.
