ADKUF discusses issues of displaced people

JAMMU, July 16: A meeting of the All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held under PL Sudeshi, its president.
Forum supported genuine demand of all Hindu employees posted in Kashmir and appealed the Government that all employees should be relocated or transferred on deputation for a period till threat to their lives is eliminated completely. They never objected to perform duties in militancy infected atmosphere till their survival faced a challenge due to selective killings they too have right to life which must be respected.
It is the local populace and media which play the most important role in encouraging communal harmony maintain heritage and culture all communities and sections of society but it is unfortunate that these employees were never accepted as a part of the system and society. Forum appeals the Government to come with comprehensive program on rehabilitating the Pandits at a single place in Kashmir which will solve all security related problems. Over delay in rehabilitating the displaced community is making this main issue more complicated.
Encroachment of Pandits property continues unabated and should be stopped effectively. Forum appeals Sinha LG that all illegal encroachments must be removed that will send a strong message to law offenders. All those involved in forcibly occupying immovable property of Pandits should be booked and given exemplary punishment. In villages such cases can effectively be dealt by local Panchayats also.
Erratic and unscheduled water supply and power cuts particularly in and around Durganagar is a cause of concern Forum requested concerned authorities that power and water should be supplied regularly following an area wise fixed time table to do away with power cuts.
Land mafia hasn’t spared Hindu religious places have encroached desecrated and destroyed a number of temples and ashrams to maintain their identity and sanctity Forum appealed LG to issue an ordinance for passing Temples and Shrines Bill a long pending demand of Pandits it will prove a good will gesture and a confidence building measure to the displaced community.
Besides, Sudeshi president of the Forum chief advisor, Prof GL Koul president Women Wing, Phoola Koul general secretary, PN Raina, Satish Kissu, CL Zutshi, ML Koul, MK Koul, Balji Pandita and PL Razdan also spoke in the meeting.
