JAMMU, Oct 15: A meeting of the All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held under the leadership of PL Sudeshi its president.
The meeting appealed Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner for crediting cash directly into the accounts of those relief holders who don’t take ration.
The meeting alleged that the displaced community has been neglected totally by the successive State Governments since forced exodus and the community has no political representation. Though two members of the displaced community were to be nominated to the Legislative Assembly so that the genuine demands are at least heard, it is unfortunate that this important demand too is still pending even after the elections have been held a year ago.
Forum appealed Election Commissioner to allow displaced community to participate in local bodies elections like Municipalities’ and Panchayats so that the basic civic facilities are provided to them till their return to Valley.
Encroachment of Pandits property is going on unabated even now as temples and cremation grounds lands too haven’t been spared at many places the topography of the area has been tampered with. Forum appealed the Government to take punitive action against all illegal encroachers and recover the occupied property without delay this is its burning issue and needs immediate attention.
Among others PN Raina general secretary, Prof GL Koul chief advisor, PK Raina working president addressed the gathering Bharat Bushan Gosain, ML Koul, NM Gadroo, MK Koul, Surinder Bhan, Satish Raina Seth Ji Ashok Ji and Bharat Bhushan Raina were present.
