Srinagar, May 9: Jammu and Kashmir Adhaar workers today sought continuation of their services in the State and said they have been rendered jobless after their contract expired with a scoring agency.
In a statement issued here, the operators said the workforce which was created for Adhaar enrollment (PEC/BME operators) has been finally rendered jobless as the project has been discontinued or is allegedly operating without roping in earlier contractors.
“We were told that it was a lifelong process and Government even trained a qualified workforce for it but all the operators and service providers working for Adhaar enrolment three years in the field and two years under Aadhaar/ NPR in office have been left jobless,” they said.
The operators said the contract period of scoring agency Comtech Info Private Ltd J&K was expired on 31-03-2016 and subsequently we have been rendered jobless. “The project has been extended for three months without roping us in,” they added.
