SRINAGAR, Oct 9: Additional Director General of Police (DGP) Armed L Mohanti today issued the promotion orders of 2500 constables of Jammu Kashmir Armed Police (JKAP) to the rank of Selection Grade Constables. The promotees include most of the eligible constables appointed in J&K Armed Police up to the year 2007.
The order was issued by Armed Police Headquarters J&K Srinagar today after the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) headed by Additional DGP Armed found the individuals eligible for their promotions to the rank of selection grade constables in light of the departmental criteria laid down for such promotions.
Pertinently 2300 eligible constables of J&K Armed Police have already been promoted to the rank of selection grade constable (SGCTs). A total number of 4800 constables of J&K Armed Police have been promoted to the rank of SGCTs in pursuance to Government’s decision for increase in the strength of Selection Grade Constables to 50 percent of the total number of Constables in Police Department.
