JAMMU, Feb 16: National Awami United Party (NAUP) today expressed concern over rising unemployment and appealed the J&K administration to address the same on priority.
Addressing party workers in Jammu, Sandeep Singh, National president NAUP said that youth of J&K is in frustration as despite gaining high qualification, they are unemployed due to lack of employment opportunities. He said for last several years, J&K Government failed to advertise jobs despite having a large number of vacancies in Government departments.
Expressing concern over the high unemployment rate in J&K, Singh asserted that there is dire need of addressing the same as educated youth are getting into condition of hopelessness. He appealed J&K LG G C Murmu to intervene personally and address this grave issue on priority.
Singh also expressed concern over the continuous protest of PHE daily wagers, which he alleged, has led to shortage of drinking water in Jammu. He appealed the Lt Governor to at least pay the pending wages of protesting PHE daily wagers besides addressing their genuine demand of regularization.
