KATHUA, July 13: A young boy of Kathua town who was said to be addict was found dead in the fields this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Pankaj Sharma (23), son of Mangat Ram, resident of Krishna Colony, Kathua. This boy believed to have taken over dose of the toxic capsules and allegedly died overnight. His family members were searching for him.
His body was found lying near canal this morning and was shifted to hospital by police. After post mortem it was handed over to the family for last rites. The police said that a case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered.
It is pertinent to mention here that his young cousin Sushil also died under similar circumstances on July 8. He was supposed to go to Haridwar with family members of Sushil for performing rites. That family left as he went missing and was found dead this morning.
It is matter of great concern that people of Kathua have lost their young sons due to spreading tentacles of addiction. Some concrete steps are needed to be taken to save young generation from this slow poison. Nothing will happen till people take resolve them selves and police provides much needed support, the people were observed saying.
