JAMMU, Jan 30: The meeting of District Advisory Committee (DAC) Jammu on PC PNDT Act, 94 was today chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Satish Sharma, here at DC Office.
During the meeting, opinion and advices of all the committee members were sought in detail.
Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. J P Singh, was asked to keep vigil on private ultra sound centres to check any violations of the PC & PNDT Act.
During the meeting, five files of private facilities for their new registration, which have been recommended by the Inspection Committee, for their registration under PC PNDT Act, 94 and Rules were approved while approval was given for renewal of registration of one ultrasound diagnostic center.
Satish Sharma asked the CMO to ensure private centres prominently display the rate list for various diagnostic tests and warning against sex determination in at least three languages with pictorial signs. He asked for enhanced vigil on the clinics and to undertake regular inspections of their facilities.
Among others the meeting was attended by Medical Superintendent Gandhi Nagar Hospital Dr. Indra Bhatyal, Sr. Consultant Pediatrics, Dr. Mahesh Chander Gupta; Gynecologist, Dr. Naresh Khajuria; District Social Welfare Officer Ajay Salaan besides others concerned.
