ADC inspects landslide zone at Gandtop Basantgarh

UDHAMPUR, Jan 23: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan, along with technical team today visited landslide hit Gandtop to inspect and suggest measures for restoration of traffic movement between Ramnagar and Basantgarh area.
It is pertinent to mention here that road connecting Ramnagar to Basantgarh was blocked due to heavy landslide and sinking of land at Gandtop.
In this connection, DDC Udhampur has constituted an expert committee comprising ADC Udhampur, Superintendent Engineers R&B and PMGSY, District Mining Officer to visit the site and suggest measures for prevention of land slide and restoration of road connectivity. The Committee carried out detailed study of the area and also interacted with local public.
The ADC asked the SDM Basantgarh to make arrangement for transportation on other side of sinking area to facilitate the transshipment of essentials so that people may not suffer for the same. He also interacted with local public of the area and listened to their grievances and assured them all possible help on behalf of district administration to overcome this situation.
Among others present were BDC Chairman, Kewal Parihar, Sub-Division Magistrate, Basantgarh, Vivek Modi, SE PMGSY, A K Raju, SE PWD, Shakti Sagar, DMO Udhampur, Executive Engineer PMGSY Ramnagar Division and other officers/officials of concerned departments were accompanying the ADC.
