NEW DELHI, Feb 10: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has commissioned a bulk terminal at Tuna Tekra, Kandla Port, with an annual handling capacity of over 20 million tonnes.
“The company, India’s largest port developer and part of Adani Group, a global integrated player has commissioned a bulk terminal at Tuna Tekra, Kandla Port, with an annual handling capacity of over 20 million tonnes,” APSEZ said in a BSE filing.
The company added that it has commissioned Tuna Tekra bulk terminal at Kandla in a record time of 24 months.
Last month, Gautam Adani-led Adani Group announced a Rs 20,000-crore investment for expanding the capacity of its Gujarat ports to 100 million tonnes per annum by 2020.
“We are going to continue our investments in port sector. We will invest another Rs 20,000 crore over the next 5 years to add another 100 million tonnes capacity in Gujarat,” Adani said at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) operates six ports in the country including four in Gujarat – Kandla, Mundra, Hazira and Dahej.
The ports handled a total cargo of 112.8 million tonnes in 2014. (PTI)
