JAMMU, Nov 10: Animal activists here today staged a peaceful protest demonstration against the killing of Avni—a tigress who was shot dead at a forest in Maharastra.
A handout of the protesters stated that Avni was a mother of two 10 month old cubs.
The protesters said: “If any animal becomes a threat to humans, the animal is eliminated. If this continued then soon we will have no animals left on earth other than those we purposely rear for our own use.”
They said that it is time that people realise that those whom we call ‘wild animals’ are also the rightful inhabitants of this planet and we have no right to kill them or destroy their habitats any more.
