Act sternly against child lifters: NAUP

JAMMU, Sept 27: National Awami United Party (NAUP) general secretary, Shikha Bandral has urged upon the Police Department to check the increasing crime in Jammu city.
Addressing a press conference here today she quoted an incident wherein child lifters tried to kidnap a school student but the vigil of parents and other students foiled the attempt.
The NAUP leader urged upon SSP Jammu to strengthen the working of their local intelligence unit to prevent such lapses.
She further said that there are many beggars in Jammu city mostly which are from outside J&K and many are not even of Indian origin.
“Police should check all these beggars on every traffic signal or busy markets,” Bandral maintained requesting the Police Department to check increasing robbery and theft cases which is increasing with every passing day.
NAUP appealed to the people of Jammu to be careful as festival season is going on and the graph of crime has increased.
Jyoti Nayyar, district joint secretary was also present in the press conference.
