JAMMU, Sept 16: The CID Counter Intelligence Jammu (CID-CIJ) has achieved a major breakthrough in its fugitive-tracking operations by apprehending Ravi Chandran alias Ravi, an absconder wanted in a major terror-related case registered at Police Station JIC Jammu.
He had been evading arrest for over two decades.
“CID J&K’s dedicated Fugitive Tracking Team relentlessly pursued leads on absconding criminals and terror suspects. The sustained effort culminated in the successful tracking of absconder Ravi Chandran to Bengaluru, Karnataka,” an official statement said.
Following precise of intelligence inputs, a special team from CID C-I Jammu, in coordination with Bengaluru City Police, executed well-coordinated arrest operation.

“Karnataka Police played an instrumental role by extending operational support, providing local intelligence assistance, and ensuring smooth legal and logistical facilitation, which led to the safe escort of the accused back to Jammu under tight security,” the statement said.
Upon arrival, Ravi Chandran was produced before the Court here, which remanded him to judicial custody.
“This operation underscores CID-J&K’s commitment to bringing long-absconding offenders to justice and supporting national security efforts in neutralizing terror networks,” the statement said.
The CID reaffirms its resolve to continue the aggressive pursuit of fugitives and proclaimed offenders across states, leveraging inter-agency cooperation and intelligence-led operations to ensure that they face the due process of law, the statement added.
