DODA, July 15: Police today arrested the accused, who had kidnapped, raped and then killed a minor girl of Nalthi village.
Police spokesman said that on the basis of specific information, a police party from Bhaderwah Police Station arrested the accused namely Tirath Singh, son of Swami Ram of Nalthi from the bushes near the Girls Higher Secondary School, Bhaderwah where he was hiding.
Soon after the arrest, the accused was put to sustained interrogation during which he confessed the crime and revealed how he kidnapped and killed the girl.
The arrest was made by a police team headed by SHO Sanjay Manhas under the direct supervision of SP Doda, Arif Rishu and ASP Bhaderwah, Roop Raj Bhagat.
Earlier, before the arrest of the accused people observed bandh on the call given by the religious and social organizations against the failure of the administration to arrest the accused.
