Accused escapes from police custody

JAMMU, July 31: An accused, who was involved in cash snatching case and was arrested yesterday by police from Nehru Market managed to escape from Nehru Market Police Post this morning.
As per police sources, Deepak Rao, son of Kalu Raj of Nepal, presently residing in Patta Chungi jumped from window and escaped from Nehru Market Police Post.
The accused was arrested by the police from City Chowk yesterday. The accused along with his associates had snatched Rs 30,000 from Kamal Kishore, son of Parshotam Dass near Nehru Market on August 30, 2013.
A case in this regard has been registered and disciplinary action will be taken against the police officials for dereliction of duties.
