Like Delhi Development Authority/Jammu Development Authority every town must have Development Authority for construction and utilizing idle space /land for construction of Flats, Market, Bus stands because neither the public has so much money nor any vision for taking so much huge task. Even if they take up the task their aim is to earn money by this way or that way without caring for beautification and development of the City. It has been felt that there is acute shortage of rented accommodation for employees, businessman who visit city/town especially in newly created District like Kishtwar, Reasi, Kupwara and Ganderbal and towns of religious importance like Katra,Shivkhori and Pahalgam. A poor man or employee can’t think of having his own house or flat in tourist, religious places.
Participation of private players can be explored under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Tehsildar, Dy SP and representatives of Bank, financial institutions and group of individuals who want to invest could become the members of Development Authority.
This can be prove to be a trend setter on One side barren, unutilized land could be used on the other hand secondly problem of accommodation could be solved up to some extent. Besides investors could earn handsome interest on their invested money.
