JAMMU, Sept 29: Lambasting the forces who challenge the accession of J&K with Indian Union, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsangchalak (chief), Dr Mohan Rao Bhagwat today said that Kashmir has not been part of India since accession signed in 1947 but from the rule of King Laltaditya, the great ruler of Kashmir whose kingdom was up to Central Asia over thousand years back.
Addressing a mammoth rally of Swayamsevaks and prominent citizens at Parade Ground here, this evening, Dr Bhagwat said that the accession of J&K with India is irreversible as it has the same sanctity as that of the accession of other princely states which merged with the Indian Union after independence. “Kashmir is our land and we have to live here”, he added.
Snubbing Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for his reported remarks before the visiting delegation of European Union that accession of J&K with Indian Union was conditional, the RSS chief said it is a cause of concern that those who are supposed to defend the nation’s  unity and integrity are making such irresponsible statements that too at a time when Fidayeen attack has taken place in the State.
“One can’t understand that the people who are supposed to defend the unity and integrity of the nation are talking about the division of the country” he said, adding “such forces keep their vested interests in mind and were playing in the hands of foreign powers”.
Paying rich tributes to Army personnel, cops and civilians who laid down their lives in recent Fidayeen attacks at Hiranagar and Samba, he said the security forces have been protecting the lives of people in this border state and protecting frontiers for 67 years now. “The terrorism and Fidayeen attacks are not only a problem for them but for us also. We are secure only when someone becomes a camouflage to protect us, so we too have to exhibit unity as well as dedication and make the enemy realize that we are not going to leave an inch of our land”, he added.
Dr Bhagwat said that Army and security forces can only work when they have the force of people behind them and united society gives ample courage and power to the forces. Instead of depending on rulers people have themselves rid the country from the problems of terrorism, naxalism, discrimination etc by fighting them out, he added.
While referring to recent violence in Kishtwar,  he said “it was a conspiracy to uproot the nationalist people from there.”
Asking the people to remain vigilant against such forces, he said it is they (people) who have to unite and solve the problems facing the nation by giving a befitting reply to divisive forces hell bent on disintegration of the nation.
He said despite the different languages, regions and cultures, India is one nation and the unity in diversity is the greatest spirit of the people which keeps this nation united.
He said this nation has a rich cultural heritage and “we believe in equality of all human beings irrespective of their religion, caste, creed and color and reject the adages of outside world like survival of fittest and struggle for existence”.
“These are not our beliefs but of outside world and this is the reason that India laid an example before the entire world regarding preserving the values of humanism, he added.
Appealing the people to unite under the banner of Sangh, he said it becomes now duty of every countrymen to protect the every inch of our motherland and defeat the designs of those who are trying to disintegrate the nation. “The cross border terrorism and extremism is no problem once people are united and fight it out with determination” he added.
The RSS chief, while equating the naxalites and terrorists with demons, said the enemy has no power to eliminate us and it has failed in its designs by trying this umpteen times in past. That is the reason that enemy resorted to proxy war after failing in conventional wars thrice, he added.
He said “had the enemy been so powerful it would not have started proxy war, and these are only our weaknesses which give power to our enemy”.
He said the present problem in India is that those who have been entrusted the job of protecting the unity and integrity of the nation are working for its disintegration and it is high time for the entire society to be united in defiance against these forces.
Highlighting the role of RSS whose foundation was laid by Dr Hedgewar 88 years back, the RSS chief, said the Sangh is working for unity among people, national integration and against those forces who are sowing the seeds of disintegration and divisive politics. The Sangh is not opposed to any one except the extremism. It is working for creating conditions to have a fearless and self reliant society, he added.
He said every one in India has to work under the banner of Sangh in this direction to build a strong nation and those who negate this philosophy of Sangh will be negated by us.
Maintaining that Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, Tibet and Sri Lanka were part of Akhand (United) Bharat, he said the condition of these countries is visible after getting disintegrated from India.
Dr Gautam Mengi Sangchalak Jammu Mahanagar welcomed Dr Bhagwat while RSS Uttar Khetar Sangchalak, Dr Bhajrang Lal Gupta, Prant Sangchalak, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh and Jammu Mahanagar Sangchalak, Yash Puri were on the dais. While among senior RSS leaders Indresh Kumar was also present in the rally.
