JAMMU, Feb 27: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today raided the head office of the J&K State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development (SCARD) Bank at Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and seized record.
Official sources told the ‘Excelsior’ that based on certain complaints with regard to sanctioning of loans to some non-existent units and massive irregularities, the ACB initiated a secret inquiry into the matter.
Today, on the directions of the Director, Anti Corruption Bureau J&K UT, a team led by an officer of the DySP rank landed in the office of the SCARD Bank at Trikuta Nagar at around 12 noon and seized record pertaining to loans sanctioned to various units in Rajouri, Udhampur and some other districts and recruitment conducted in the past. There were allegations of back door appointments in the bank, misappropriation in subsidy and various other irregularities conducted by the senior officials of the Bank, the sources added.
They said that the team remained in the Bank up to 4 pm and seized the required record. The team restricted the movement of Bank officials during the raid.
A senior official from ACB when contacted said that their team has just seized some record from the Bank and things will be clear only after the scrutiny of the seized documents. He refused to share more inputs with regard to the seized record and allegations but maintained that they will share the information after thorough probe shortly.
