JAMMU, Mar 21: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced charge sheet against Mohd Farooq, the then Patwari Halqa Dudu-Basantgarh and beneficiary Mohd Javed, who are accused of tampering Revenue record.
Charge sheet against Mohd Farooq (now Girdawar), resident of Kadwah, Basantgarh, Udhampur and Mohd Javed of Dudu, Udhampur (beneficiary) was presented before the Court of Addl District & Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption Udhampur, in case FIR No. 03/2016 under Section 5(1) (d) r/w Section 5(2) of J&K PC Act and section 467,468,471 & 120-B/RPC, registered against them in P/S VOJ (now ACB)
The instant case was registered on the basis of an enquiry conducted by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Basantgarh into the allegations of tampering with the Revenue record pertaining to Khasra No.76 (land measuring 2 kanals 18 marlas) in village, Dudu which revealed that Mohd Farooq, the then Patwari Halqa Dudu-Basantgarh, by abusing his official position hatched a criminal conspiracy with Mohd Javed (beneficiary) and made false/fictitious entry of Girdawari to favour the beneficiary.
During verification, it was revealed that Mohd Javed with the intention to grab the land of his sister namely Asmat Begum, entered into a criminal conspiracy with Patwari Mohd Farooq and got made illegal entries of Girdawari in the Revenue record by tampering, to register his claim on the land. Despite of having knowledge that the land belongs to Asmat Begum and is under her cultivation, the Patwari by abusing his official position, made the wrong Girdawari entry into the Girdawari Register during the Girdawari (Rabbi) 2005 for 4 Kanals 8 marlas at khasra No.76 (min) mentioning that it was a self cultivated piece of land (Khud Kasht) through Mohd Javed beneficiary by manipulating the records, thus conferred the wrongful gain to the beneficiary thereby deprived the actual owner of her rightful claim.
The case was charge sheeted in the court of law after obtaining Govt sanction from the competent authority. The next date of hearing has been fixed for April 23, 2021.
