ACB books two officials of Sgr Smart City in DA case

Several assets detected

JAMMU, Jan 10: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu and Kashmir has registered Disprop-ortionate Assets (DA) cases against two officials of the Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL).

Addressing a press conference here, Abdul Waheed Shah, AIG Headquarters, J&K ACB said that Sajid Yousuf Bhat, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), SSCL, and Zahoor Ahmad Dar, Executive Engineer, SSCL, were booked for possessing assets beyond their known sources of income.

He said, following a secret inquiry, the ACB found that Sajid Yousuf Bhat of Namblabal Pampore at present Doulatabad Khanyar, Srinagar, owns a commercial property in Rambagh, Srinagar, valued significantly higher than the documented sale price.
According to him, the accused is also linked to several suspicious bank transactions.
As such, he has been booked in case FIR number 01/2025 under section 13(1) (b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 registered at Police Station ACB Srinagar and further investigations taken up.
Similarly, he said, Zahoor Ahmad Dar of Takinwaripora Srinagar at present Galibabad Lane Number 5 Shalteng, Srinagar, has acquired a lavish multi-storied house in Shalteng, a Sedan, Benami properties, and substantial fixed deposit receipts (FDRs. These properties are disproportionate to his known sources of income, he said.
“His bank accounts and those of his spouse revealed questionable transactions,” he said.
The AIG Headquarters, J&K ACB, Abdul Waheed Shah said that Dar has been booked in case FIR number 02/2025 under Section 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 registered at Polie Station ACB Srinagar and further investigation taken up.
Shah said that after obtaining search warrants from the court, the ACB also conducted raids at seven locations associated with the accused.
Both the cases are being further investigated to gather more evidence, he said.
