JAMMU, Mar 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against a former Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) and others for alleged misappropriation of ration and Government funds in Reasi district.
An ACB official said the case, FIR number 06/2026, has been lodged at Police Station ACB Udhampur under relevant sections of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and RPC, and investigation has been taken up.
According to him, the case has been registered against Pranav Gandotra, who was posted as TSO Arnas/Dharmari in Reasi, along with other officers and officials of the CA&PD Department.
The ACB official said a preliminary verification revealed that during his tenure from April 2011 to January 2013, the accused allegedly received 22298.80 quintals of excess ration and also drew around Rs 103.63 lakh as transportation charges in connivance with other officials.
He further said that the ration was not supplied to the designated depots and was instead diverted to the black market, causing a significant loss to the Government exchequer.
The accused persons misused their official positions and acted in criminal conspiracy, thereby gaining undue benefits, he said, adding that further investigation into the matter is underway.
