ACB books ex-DM JCC Bank

JAMMU, Dec 30: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Rajinder Raj Sharma, then District Manager JCC Bank Limited, official spokesman said.
He informed that the case has been registered under FIR Number 4/19 under section 5(1) (d) r/w 5 (2) of J&K PC Act, Svt. 2006 and Section 120-B RPC.
The case was registered on the outcome of miscellaneous verification conducted by ACB Rajouri on the basis of a complaint lodged by Parmanand, son of Santu Ram of Wazir Lane Talab Tillo Jammu into the allegations of financial irregularities and mismanagement by the officers/officials of JCCBL.
The spokesman added that during the course of verification, it surfaced that Rajinder Raj Sharma, then District Manager JCCBL Rajouri by abuse of his official position and to confer undue pecuniary advantages upon the beneficiaries/loanees has violated the terms and conditions in respect of one time settlement (OTS) in 2015-16 for liquidation of loans by the defaulters as envisaged vide circular bearing number LSO/OTS/17846-17959/1 dated 06-02-2016, as he without processing OTS proposals before the Settlement Committee (one of the mandatory conditions as envisaged in the above said circular) has made settlement on his own and copy of each settlement was found given to the beneficiaries and AGM (Advances) for information during the year 2015-16.
Moreover, while granting OTS, he did not make any negotiation on the interest portion. There was only one instance in which Rs 23,476 as interest was received from 6 persons of Sunderbani, the spokesman stated.
“Anti-Corruption Bureau after registration of a case under relevant sections of law, also conducted searches with the help of local police and magistrate at the residence of accused in Barnai. During the process, all incriminating documents which have been recovered are being seized on spot in presence of independent witnesses. Detailed and in-depth scrutiny of the seized record will be carried out during further course of investigation by ACB, Rajouri”, the spokesman informed.
