JAMMU, Aug 23: A deputation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Central University of Jammu unit today submitted a memorandum to CUJ Incharge Registrar Dr Yashwant Singh regarding various issues pertaining to student community in the university.
ABVP demand to start all the departments proposed in CUJ as out of 81, only 21 departments are being run presently. History, Political Science, Geography, Sanskrit, Dogri & Law are among the departments are yet to be started.
ABVP also demanded to organise convocation ceremony, install helpline number, Hostel facilities for both boys and girls inside the university campus , more canteens and cafes at the university, installation of Swami Vivekananda’s statue on the campus, proper dedicated waiting hall for visitors, installation of the ventilation systems and exhaust fans in all laboratories along with proper lab waste disposal system, e-rickshaw service connecting University’s major buildings, departments, and Admin Block and constituting Disaster Management Committee at the University level by involving local people along with academic/non-academic staff and students of the university in order to strengthen the information system.
The ABVP stressed that a complete framework for the speedy implementation of National Educational Policy -2020 in the university should be formed by the administration.
Registrar ensured the delegation that he will take up the cognizance of these demands and do the required that will benefit the student fraternity of CUJ
