JAMMU, Apr 15: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Jammu Mahanagar today staged a protest against the Controller of Examinations of Cluster University of Jammu, expressing strong resentment over the recently issued examination datesheet.
Raising slogans and highlighting student grievances, ABVP activists alleged that the datesheet was issued, despite incomplete syllabus coverage in several affiliated colleges.
Students claimed that an acute shortage of lecturers has severely disrupted academic activities, leaving large portions of the curriculum unfinished.
Addressing the media, ABVP State Secretary Sannak Shrivats criticized the university administration for compressing a six-month semester into just three months.
He termed the move as “anti-student,” stating that it has adversely affected both the quality of education and students’ preparation time.
Shrivats demanded immediate rescheduling of the examination datesheet, asserting that exams cannot be conducted without completing the syllabus.
He also called for urgent completion of pending courses and emphasized the need for recruiting adequate teaching staff to bridge academic gaps and stressed the importance of maintaining a structured academic calendar and warned that continued negligence would force students to intensify their protest.
ABVP Jammu Mahanagar Secretary Raman Khajuria issued a stern warning to the university authorities, stating that student concerns cannot be ignored.
He asserted that if the genuine demands are not addressed promptly, ABVP will escalate its agitation on a larger scale, taking the movement to the streets.
The protest saw participation from a large number of students from various affiliated colleges, who voiced concerns over their academic future and urged the university administration to act responsibly.
