ABVP chalks out new action plan for next year

JAMMU, June 6: During its National Executive Council meeting on May 27,28 and 29 in Shimla, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad chalked out new action plans and goals for the next year.
In the meeting, four resolutions were passed, which titled; `Stop unethical interference of State Government in the education sector’, ‘Current National scenario’, `Student centric and futuristic national education policy must be implemented soonest possible’ and `Every effort should be made to make a self- reliant India’.
Briefing media persons here today about the resolution, ABVP J&K State Secretary Mukesh Manhas asserted that political interference by the State Governments was destroying the original identity and independence of the universities.
With regard to the second resolution, titled ‘ Student centric and futuristic National Education Policy must be implemented soonest possible ‘, ABVP appealed the Governments, Vice Chancellors and all stakeholders of education to rise above the partisan politics for national interest in implementing National Education Policy.
“Some important decisions were also taken in the meeting for the coming year and a plan was chalked out to plant 1 crore saplings by the students. For this, the process of making ‘Vriksha Mitra’ has been initiated from 5th June. In Jammu Kashmir ABVP Karyakartas will plant 1 lakh saplings,” said Mukesh Manhas .
Others who were present in the press conference, included Ramnik Sharma, State Joint Secretary; Akshi Billowaria, National Executive Council Member; Abhishek Sharma, Jammu Vibhag Convenor and Hariom Sharma, Jammu Mahanagar Joint Secretary.
