SRINAGAR, Dec 7: The most wanted militant and divisional commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) along with his associates is believed to be trapped in a house in South Kashmir village.
Police, 1-Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of Army and 90 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) today launched an operation in Hussanpora Khudwani village of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district after they received information about presence of 3-4 militants of LeT including divisional commander, Abu Dujana and Abdul Majeed Gania in the area.
The cordon was laid around the village at around 2 pm. However, at around 4 pm security forces fired several tear smoke shells inside a house where they had information about presence of militants. The militants responded by firing few shots.
The firing again started at 7 pm and it is going on. Security forces tightened the cordon around the village so as to prevent militants from fleeing the area.
The residents of the area pelted stones at the security forces during the cordon and more troops were rushed to the area for law and order duty.
Dujana is most wanted militant in Kashmir, who is involved in several attacks in South Kashmir including two Fidayeen attacks in Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) building and attack on BSF in Udhampur last year.
