JAMMU, Apr 18: Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sang (ABSMS) has threatened to start ‘Talla Band Hartal’ from April 21 if Government failed to release their salaries by Monday, the 20th of April.
A meeting of safai karmarcharis working in various municipal committees was held this evening under the chairmanship of State president, ABSMS, Dev Anand Gill, wherein the issue was raised. The speakers alleged that safai karmarcharis have not received their monthly salaries for the month of March whereas casual workers were facing similar problem since last 4 months.
Gill said that it was very difficult for poor workers to survive in such a scenario as they have not been getting their salaries for last so many months. The meeting resolved to wait till the evening of April 20 for the salaries and then launch ‘Talla Band Hartal’ after that, if their dues were not cleared.
Hardev, Mangat Ram, Shanker, Bhatti, Romaesh Lal and Vijay Pal were also present in the meeting.
