JAMMU, Jan 7: Khour police arrested an absconding rapist, who was evading his arrest for the past 25 years.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Khour Police Station conducted raid and apprehended an absconder, who was at large since 1993.
The accused has been identified as Rattan Lal, son of Kaka Ram, a resident of Jallandhar, at present Pargwal.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 20/1991 under section 376, 363, 366 and 109 RPC with Police Station Khour. Arrest warrant under section 512 CrPC also stands issued against the accused by Additional Session Judge Jammu.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Khour Inspector Joginder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of Ajay Sharma, SDPO Akhnoor, Dushyant Sharma SP Rural Jammu and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
