UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Police arrested a hardcore murder accused, who had managed to escape during trial in Sessions Court Jammu, around two years back.
The accused, namely Rahil Chandel (25), son of Mohd Rafiq Chandel, was arrested near Roun Domail, when he was traveling in a bus from Jaganoo towards Udhampur.
This was informed by SSP Udhampur, Shailender Mishra, while addressing a press conference here today.
“In year 2009, a vegetable merchant was killed by some unknown accused persons and in that case, Rahil Chandel along with others were arrested and produced the court of law. During the course of judicial trail, in Sessions Court on 12-05-2015, the accused in connivance with some of his suspected sponsors, very tactfully managed to escape from court. In this connection a case FIR no 104/2015 U/S 223/224/RPC was registered in the Police Station Jani Pur Jammu,” the SSP said.
