SAMBA, Feb 24: In a significant breakthrough in its ongoing drive against absconders and criminals, Samba Police successfully apprehended an accused who had been evading arrest for nearly a decade.
A police team from Police Station Ghagwal, led by SHO Police Station Ghagwal and operating under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Samba and SSP Samba Varinder Manhas arrested the absconder, identified as Abdul Rasid, son of Mohd Yaqoob, a resident of Kansi Patta, Tehsil and District Reasi.
Rasid was wanted in connection with FIR Number 02/2014 under Sections 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act, registered at Police Station Ghagwal. Since 2014, he had been on the run following his alleged involvement in the case.
Following his arrest, Rasid was produced before the court of law, where the pending arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC was executed.
