JAMMU, June 18: An absconder, who was evading his arrest for the past five years landed in Gandhi Nagar police net.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar police station conducted raid and nabbed an absconder, who was at large for the past five years.
The accused has been identified as Gurdeep Singh alias Dippa, son of Mukhtayar Singh, a resident of Digiana.
He was wanted in two cases registered under FIR Number 54/08 under Section 341, 323 and 427 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act with police station Gandhi Nager and FIR Number 141/07 under Section 4/27 Arms Act with police station Satwari. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against the accused by CJM Jammu on December 12, 2012 and since then he was evading his arrest.
Further investigation into the cases is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Ritesh Samyal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
