REASI, May 5: Police today arrested an absconder wanted in kidnapping and rape case and was evading arrest since 2019.
Mohd Tahir son of Ghulam Mohiuddin of Bagga Mahore was absconding in a case of FIR number 41/2019 U/S 363, 376-D, 343, 452, RPC, 4-POSCO Act at Police Station Chassana after committing the crime in 2019.
He evaded investigation by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since the registration of FIR in 2019 as he was changing his hideouts both inside and outside J&K.
A warrant under section 512 CrPC was issued by the Court of Principal District and Sessions Judge Reasi against the accused on 11/12/2019.
By proper planning and coordinated efforts, Reasi police chased the accused till his arrest.
Meanwhile, police sources informed that cops are on hunt to apprehend another accused absconding in the case and they include Nazir Ahmed, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Qadir-all sons of Abdul Samad while Farid Ahmed son of Bahar Din from Bagga Mahore and Abdul Qayoom son of Nizam Din of Bagankot Chassana are already arrested and are behind the bars.
This is arrest of 9th absconder by Reasi Police under the command of SSP, Shailender Singh within three weeks.
