JAMMU, Mar 11: Chairman of NGO Healthy India Stronger India (HISI), Hira Lal Abrol here today inaugurated a Beauty Parlour owned by Preeti Ratra.
Ratra was trained at Raghunathpura Center of HISI—an NGO running ‘Free Training Centre’ for skill development of needy and poor children from BPL families.
Students and staff members of HISI were also present on the occasion where Abrol distributed sarees, suits and cash incentives to the students.
A handout stated that the HISI training centre offers four months’ free training in Basic Computers; Cutting & Tailoring Classes; Beautician Course; Music & Dance with Free Library facility for the students.
The handout claimed that nearly 600 students have been passed out from HISI training centres, after successful completion of courses from this centre and have been placed in various organizations and some of them have even started their own ventures and are earning a good livelihood for their families and are living a respectable life in society.
In addition to training in skill development, HISI equips its students with moral values and life skills.
The students are motivated to live a healthy life and to stay away from tobacco and drugs.
Girls and women trainees of the NGO have recently been trained in ‘Self Defence’.
