Sir,
Apropos ‘History of Struggle for Abrogation of Art 370’ by Brig Anil Gupta (DE Dated 29 Aug, 2019), the author has rendered laudable service to the society in general and younger generation in particular by highlighting historical facts with regard to long drawn struggle for the cherished goal of ‘Abrogation of 370 & 35A’. Public memory is very short and such reminders at regular intervals serve useful purpose. Pt. Prem Nath Dogra was the crusader along with many others who resisted the hegemony of Kashmir centric polity, post accession leading to only partial independence to not only Jammu and Ladakh, but also to large parts of Kashmir, especially the tribal areas. Whenever there is injustice by way of disparity, genuine resistance is bound to come sooner or later. It is hoped that justice will now be done to all parts and segments of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh without any bias and disparity. There is no reason to think or believe otherwise. Future of J & K and Ladakh is bright in the changed strategically important scenario of governance under Union Territories framework. This is need of the hour for undertaking long pending corrections on various fronts, including national security.
